UP Govt to recruit 1800 Medical officers

Uttar Pradesh(UP) Chief minister Mayawati on Thursday reviewed the law and order situation in the state and asked the officials to ensure that peace is maintained. She also directed the officials to take stringent action against anti-social elements. The meeting assumes significance, against the possibility of UP assembly elections being held in February. These directions were given by the CM after a review meeting of top civil and police officials held jointly by cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh and chief secretary Anoop Mishra. Among others, the meeting was attended by district magistrates, district police chiefs, divisional commissioners, principal secretaries of different departments and the director general of police. Stressing the need for improving the medicare facilities, she said, "1800 new medical officers would be recruited in 2012." She also emphasised that a special vaccination programme for children would be launched from December 14 to January 15.
