BJP releases Manifesto 2012 for UP polls

Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) today releases Manifesto 2012 for Uttar Pradesh(UP) ahead of UP Election 2012. BJP Manifesto for the Uttar Pradesh released in Lucknow in presence of its leaders Uma Bharati, Kalraj Mishra, Sudheendra Kulkarni and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. This is not just a manifesto but a vow of promise, said Sudheendra Kulkarni after releasing BJP's manifesto. Stressing on employment and education, the manifesto promises  five lakh jobs and Rs 18,000 allowance for the unemployed youth of the state along with tablets for high school students for Rs 1,000 and laptops for class XII students for Rs 5,000. The manifesto also promises 4.5% quota reserved for minorities within the 27% quota reserved for OBCs.
For empowerment of women, the party has promised 33 per cent reservation to women in Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and government jobs, besides 50 per cent quota in local bodies and panchayat elections. It said Rani Laxmibai battalions would be raised in police and PAC in which only women would be recruited. On price control and food security front the party said that 35 kg wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg and free food grain would be given to elderly and shelter less above 65 years of age.
