Congress Vision 2020 for Uttar Pradesh (UP)

Congress to release "Vision 2020" for Uttar Pradesh (UP) ahead of releasing its UP manifesto for UP Election 2012 to provide a roadmap to the electorate on how to bring the state back on the route to development. Making an influential attempt in this regard, the party has promised the creation of 20 lakh employment opportunities along with other developmental measures in the state, if it is voted to power, in the next five years. According to the sources, the party has framed the developmental roadmap for the state and will release its ‘Vision 2020’on January 27 in ten major cities of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Agra and Meerut.  The party is also eyeing at deriving benefits from the influential Dalit vote bank. In this regard, it is likely to promise sub-quota for the Mahadalits. Besides this, the Congress manifesto may also promise the relaxing stamp duty on registry of house for SC and ST community who do not fall in the taxed income limit.  The Congress leader further informed that the document also talks of setting up 1,000 skill development centres across the state to equip 20 lakh people over next 10 years with the technical knowledge to get better jobs in different sectors. The document will be different from the party’s election manifesto, the party leader added.
