Mulayam Singh cancel Azamgarh Rally due to rain

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav cancel proposed rally in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh town due to rain, Party general secretary Azam Khan, the party's Muslim face, was scheduled to fly with him in the plane to Azamgarh, some 270 km from here. Both the leaders waited till late afternoon but were forced to cancel the trip as weather conditions did not improve, he said. Local leaders addressed the rally at the ITI ground in Azamgarh. This was Mulayam's first poll rally after announcement of election schedule for Uttar Pradesh. Rains lashed large parts of the state overnight ushering in a wet New Year.
