No party will be able to form govt in UP: Yogi Adityanath

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha member Yogi Adityanath Saturday not only predicted a fractured verdict in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections but also ruled out the possibility of formation of any government in the state. "Let me tell you that no political party will be in a position to form a government," the politician told reporters in this eastern Uttar Pradesh city. Asked if he was foreseeing a spell of president's rule in the state, he shot back: "You know what happens when no political party is in a position to form a government in a state."
Yogi said the two largest national parties, the BJP and the Congress, had failed to grow as alternatives to the BSP and the SP, although the BJP was in race for the number 1 position in the state. He predicted that mid-term polls will be held in the state within the next one year. “On the basis of polling trends and feedback received in the first two phases, I believe no party will get clear majority in UP,” Yogi said. “Exit polls placed the BJP at fourth place. I said the BJP is in race for number 1 only to boost the morale of party workers and attract voters.” BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi refused to comment on Yogi’s statement. “It is his own opinion,” he said.
