Mulayam, Akhilesh meet UP Governor BL Joshi

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday met Uttar Pradesh Governor BL Joshi. The party is scheduled convene meeting of its newly elected legislators in Lucknow on March 10. There have been speculations over the chief ministerial post even before the party member UP assembly. Akhilesh Yadav, however, reiterated that the popular sentiments are in the favour of 'Netaji' (Mualyam) as the chief minister. Same sentiments were echoed by Mr Shiv Pal Singh Yadav, the younger brother of Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav. However, the final decision would be taken in this regard by party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav. "Majority of MLAs are in favour of making Akhilesh the next CM. At the meeting of legislators, they will put in their views on the issue", party national General Secretary Naresh Agarwal told the news agency.
All eyes are now set on the SP Legislature Party meeting scheduled after 'Holi' festival most probably on March 9. Initially, the meeting was supposed to take place this evening but was deferred as all the legislators could not reach the state capital due to celebrations of their victory and the festival in their constituencies. The Parliamentary Board's decision to elect Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav as Legislature Party leader sought has, however, put at rest all the speculation about Mr Akhilesh Yadav becoming the chief minister though some young leaders were pitching for Mr Akhilesh Yadav. As expected, the new Samajwadi Party government would  take oath after Holi festival.
