Bus catches fire, 20 Milgrims killed in UP

More than 20 Jayreen (Pilgrims) were feared killed when a bus carrying nearly 80 pilgrims caught fire after colliding with a truck at Tilwarai in Kotwali (Dehat) police circle on the outskirts of Bahraich late on Friday night. All the other injured have been admitted to a Bahraich hospital. Officials supervising the rescue operation said the toll could climb. “We have been informed that some of the passengers managed to jump off the bus after it caught fire, while some others were rescued by the police and locals. A number of injured have been admitted to the nearest medical facility,” said ADG (Law & Order and Crime) Jagmohan Yadav.
According to reports, a private chartered bus, carrying nearlyJayreen (Pilgrims), was heading for Khwaja Muinuddin Chisti Dargah, Ajmer of Rajasthan when it rammed into a truck parked on the roadside in Tilwarai at around 11 pm. The collision led to a fire and within minutes, the bus was completely wrapped in flames. As per Media reports after the bus caught fire, an explosion was heard which could have been caused when a LPG cylinder kept inside the vehicle went up in flames. Most of the victims were from Ambedkar Nagar and adjoining districts.
