UPPSC Exams age Limit increased to 40 from 35

Uttar Pradesh(UP) Government has raised the age limit for appearing in the competitive examinations conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) from the existing 35 years to 40 years. This was announced in the State Assembly by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohammad Azam Khan after the decision got the state Cabinet's nod. In the Legislative Council, this announcement was made by leader of the House, Ahmed Hassan. "The state Cabinet has decided to increase the age limit to appear in UP Public Service Commission examinations by 5 years from the existing 35 years to 40 years," Mr Khan said in the state Assembly today.
The minister said the government had issued an order and it had been communicated to the UPPSC. "The order will come into force for future examinations to be conducted from June and will have no effect on examinations for which advertisements have been issued," Mr Khan said and added that for the reserve category applicants, there has been no change in the terms and conditions. The government, however, clarified that though the age limit had been increased, the number of attempts available to applicants for a particular examination would remain the same.
