Chief Election Commission VS Sampath held a press conference today where he announced the poll dates and plan for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh poll today. Himachal polling will be held in one phase on Nov 4, 2012. Himachal Pradesh, ruled by BJP has 68 constituencies with 17 seats reserved for SC and three for STs. Counting in both the states will take place on December 20, 2012. State Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal is pitted against old warhorse of Congress Virbadhra Singh, who has been chief minister for three terms in Himachal Pradesh.
