Samajwadi Pension Yojana Application Form

Samajwadi Pension Yojana (समाजवादी पेंशन योजना): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on 5th November 2014 inaugurated the Samajwadi Pension Yojana for 40 lakh families, including those that come under Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and minorities. Under the 1st phase of this scheme, 12 lakh families from SC-ST category will be the beneficiaries. Apart from them, 10 lakh from the minority community and 18 lakh poor families from the backward and other categories will be the other beneficiaries. According to the Samajwadi Pension Scheme, the head of each beneficiary family will be entitled to Rs 500 on monthly basis in the first year of the scheme. Between the second and the sixth year, there are provisions of increasing the pension amount by Rs.50 per year. Likewise, a beneficiary will get Rs.550 per month in the year 2015-16 and by the end of the sixth year, the amount would stabilize at Rs.750 per month, the spokesman added.

Ganges river dolphin was recognized as a separate species in the 1970s, although some controversy remains surrounding its relationship with the Indus river dolphin. Ganges river dolphins once lived in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna and Karnaphuli-Sangu river systems of Nepal, India, and Bangladesh. But the species is extinct from most of its early distribution ranges. Ganges river dolphin can only live in freshwater and is essentially blind. They hunt by emitting ultrasonic sounds, which bounces off of fish and other prey, enabling them to “see” an image in their mind.

Sangeet Som gets Z category security

Muzaffarnagar riots accused Sangeet Som has been granted Z category security following an intelligence input about a threat to his life. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) decided to grant the security status to BJP MLA Som. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave the nod to the proposal after he was convinced that Som faced serious threat to his life.
Sangit Singh Som was arrested last year for his alleged role in uploading a fake video that reportedly created communal tension in Muzaffarnagar. He was later released on bail. While Congress has cried foul over the granting of the highest security cover, Som himself has questioned why he shouldn’t be granted Z plus cover if there is a threat to his life.

Centre government named four Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for the Raj Bhavans in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. Gujarat speaker Vajubhai Vala has been appointed governor of Karanatka, where H R Bharadwaj had completed his tenure recently, while former union minister C Vidyasagar Rao will take the place of K.Shankaranarayanan, who quit as governor of Maharashtra on Sunday after he was shunted to Mizoram and former BJP Mahila Morcha president Mridula Sinha in Goa. The 82-year-old presided over Uttar Pradesh when Hindu mobs razed the Babri mosque in Ayodhya in December 1992.  A committed RSS worker, Kalyan Singh parted ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party following differences with former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In what could spell more trouble for the Aam Aadmi Party whose chief is in jail, one of its founding members, Shazia Ilmi, and another leader, Captain Gopinath, quit on Saturday. While announcing her resignation, Ilmi told reporters today that there was a lack of democracy within the party. "There is lack of inner party democracy within the Aam Aadmi Party. The party which talks about 'Swaraj' has failed to apply it within the party," Ilmi said at a press conference.
Accusing the party of marginalising her, Ilmi said, "We fight against cronyism but there is a crony clique that runs AAP, who takes the decisions and we are told about it later." She also clarified that her resignation from the party is not due to the fact that she was asked to contest the Lok Sabha election from Ghaziabad, from where she lost. She also said the party has lost its direction and needs to introspect and go beyond agitations.
