Samajwadi Pension Yojana (समाजवादी पेंशन योजना):
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on 5th November 2014
inaugurated the Samajwadi Pension Yojana for 40 lakh families, including
those that come under Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and
minorities. Under the 1st phase of this scheme, 12 lakh families from
SC-ST category will be the beneficiaries. Apart from them, 10 lakh from
the minority community and 18 lakh poor families from the backward and
other categories will be the other beneficiaries. According to the
Samajwadi Pension Scheme, the head of each beneficiary family will be
entitled to Rs 500 on monthly basis in the first year of the scheme.
Between the second and the sixth year, there are provisions of
increasing the pension amount by Rs.50 per year. Likewise, a beneficiary
will get Rs.550 per month in the year 2015-16 and by the end of the
sixth year, the amount would stabilize at Rs.750 per month, the
spokesman added.
