Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced to make the Nawazuddin Siddiqui's upcoming movie 'Manjhi-The Mountain Man' tax-free in Uttar Pradesh. The decision was announced by a state government spokesperson here on Thursday after Siddiqui and the movie's director Ketan Mehta called on the CM' at his official residence in Lucknow. "On the occasion the CM told the guests that his government was serious in promoting film tourism in Uttar Pradesh. He also said that the new film policy introduced by UP government has attracted many filmmakers to shoot movies in the state," the spokesperson said.
Akhilesh said UP has tremendous potential for film production on the basis of which the state has tailored an attractive film policy. Elaborated on the films that have been shot in UP over the past three years, Akhilesh also said UP will offer all possible help and to film makers. The CM also said work was underway to establish two film cities in the state; one on the Agra-Lucknow Express-way, and the second at the trans-Ganga hi-tech city project in Unnao.
