UP Current Affairs January 2016:

• Javeed Ahmed is Uttar Pradesh's new DGP. A 1984-cadre of the Indian Police Services, Javeed Ahmed, was appointed as the new Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh on 1st January 2016.
• Azamgarh-born Indian American entrepreneur and philanthropist Frank Islam has been awarded the inaugural UP Ratna award 2015 for his contribution as a son of Uttar Pradesh. 
• उत्तर प्रदेश ने 20 जनवरी को मुंबई के वानखेडे स्टेडियम में खेले गए सैयद मुश्ताक अली ट्रॉफी (टी20 टूर्नामेंट) के फाइनल में बडौदा को 38 रन से हराकर खिताब अपने नाम कर लिया। यूपी ने पहली बार यह खिताब जीता है। 
• संजय मिश्रा उत्तर प्रदेश के नए लोकायुक्त नियुक्त। सुप्रीम कोर्ट में 28 जनवरी को जस्टिस वीरेंद्र सिंह का नाम खारिज करते हुए जस्टिस (रिटायर्ड) संजय मिश्रा को उत्तरप्रदेश का नया लोकायुक्त अप्वॉइंट किया है । जस्टिस संजय मिश्रा इलाहाबाद के मूल निवासी हैं। वह यूपी के पूर्व अटॉर्नी जनरल कन्हैयालाल मिश्रा के पोते हैं।
