Sheila Dikshit is Congress CM candidate for Uttar Pradesh

Sheila Dikshit is Congress CM candidate for Uttar Pradesh for upcoming assembly election 2016. Congress party’s decision to name former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit as its chief ministerial candidate for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections is a very calculated move by the party. However, the big question is whether such political calculations are enough to enthuse the cadre and the electorate and transform into votes. Some months ago, election strategist Prashant Kishor, who was drafted by the Congress to assist its UP election campaign, had reportedly suggested that a Brahmin should be projected as the face of the party in the state. 

According to the plan drawn up by the party, Dikshit is just the face of the Brahmin-Muslim-Dalit-Kurmi rainbow coalition the Congress is trying to put together in the state. And, it would be sold by Priyanka through a massive campaign.
